My Holiday Gift Ideas

Looking for something special this holiday season? Here's just a few of my favorite gift ideas.
-Chris

Local Spirits Fun: Bully Boy's Bottled Old Fashioned, or their collaboration with GrandTen Distilling's Godfather Bottled Cocktail. Pair with etched maps rocks glasses by Uncommon Green (Boston or South Boston options). $30-$31, $12.50 for the glasses.

Cristom Magnum: A beautiful Pinot Noir from Oregon's Willamette Valley, in a festive big bottle (1.5 liters)! $125

Mad River Distilling Gift Set: We love this small Vermont distiller. In fact, their Rye is one of my favorite on our shelf. The gift set includes one 375ml bottle each of the Rye, Bourbon and Maple Rum. Yep, the maple syrup is from Vermont as well! $48

123 Organics Gift Box: One of my favorite tequilas, 123 is a little weightier than others making it super sippable! Includes a 750ml Blanco, Reposado and Añejo and comes in a beautiful wood box. $185

Giant Bottle of Stone Brewing's Double Bastard: This one's just because. A 3L bottle of a double IPA. Because who doesn't want to open a giant bottle of beer with friends? $109

Beer Puzzle Pack: Love this wooden beer six-pack carrier. It starts out as a puzzle - gives you something to do as you enjoy the first beer. Suggestion: finish the puzzle before you finish the beer! $12 (without beer)

You know ya make me wanna STOUT!

As the weather keeps getting colder, and the snow keeps falling, I find myself gravitating towards the darkest style of the beer world, the stout. I am going to review two different styles of coffee stout, one which is readily available and one special release that might be pretty hard to track down.
